Jennifer Pope, LCSW
Jennifer Pope (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech, and her Master’s in Social Work from SUNY Albany.
Jennifer practices as an EMDR-trained clinician through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) with full certification expected in 2026. She specializes in the treatment of PTSD, dissociation, complex and childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship and parenting challenges, and eating disorders. Jennifer’s approach to therapy is person-centered, with curiosity about how a person’s experiences have shaped them. Jennifer is a NASW-approved clinical supervisor.
In addition to EMDR, Jennifer utilizes trauma-responsive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and attachment theories. Jennifer is trained in the Safe and Sound Protocol by Unyte-iLS to support individuals through a music listening protocol developed within polyvagal theory to help minimize distress and anxiety and increase emotional regulation. (See the Additional Services page for more info on SSP.) When working with eating disorders, Jennifer takes a Health At Every Size (HAES) approach and is comfortable working alongside nutritionist for wrap around recovery.
Jennifer’s therapy approach is geared toward helping clients explore agency and autonomy while building resilience and regulating their nervous systems. She strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space for growth and healing where clients can feel safe to explore challenging emotions, reflect on past pains, and hold hope for the future.
